The owners of independent craft shops are being encouraged to attend a free event in London next month, which will feature a range of informative workshops tailored specifically to the owners of independent art and craft outlets.
Launched by creative publishing and marketing platform Blurb, the 'Jumpstarting Creative Enterprises' event will take place on the 5th November and include sessions on everything from branding and photography, to advice on the everyday running of a craft shop.
Noteworthy features include classes on how to start a small business – hosted by Etsy – advice on taking better photos of your products and workshops on marketing.
Visitors to the event will also be given the opportunity to speak to a number of business experts on the day and build relationships with other people in their field.
Highlighting the reasons retailers should attend the event, Blurb's senior director of European market development, tells Craft Business, “It’s the perfect opportunity for shop owners to hear from inspirational speakers like Etsy and Moo about how they can showcase their crafts in new ways and help their customers market their creative work.
“There will be workshops on how to take effective photos of your crafts, as well as ones about DIY branding where shop owners, artists and small businesses can get tips from the experts and each other,” she adds.
