The news is hot of the press that popular craft personality Dawn Bibby has been appointed the new craft expert at Create and Craft TV.
For weeks speculation has been rife about the move, with fans eagerly awaiting an announcement from the Bibby camp and today the news has gone live.
Dawn joins the presenting team at Create and Craft TV, part of the Ideal World empire, following her decision to leave competitor channel QVC. Dawn took to her blog to update her dedicated followers and says, “This has been a very long and hard decision for me to make after 18 years in one place. I have loved my role at QVC and relished every moment however things change and people change. It is time for a new adventure for me. I had hoped to continue and work until the 1st of July however the decision has been taken out of my control.”
The award winning crafter is widely credited with converting thousands of viewers to the love of craft and she will now bring her wealth of knowledge to viewers of Create and Craft TV.
Dawn will be back on our screens on Tuesday 31st May with her first broadcast for the channel and she is really excited for the start of her new venture, “I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to join a channel that is so focused on craft and is as passionate as I am about the industry I love. I thrive on sharing my inspirations and creativity.”
The appointment is the latest development in a string of successes for the craft channel, which recently extended its live hours on Sky, Freesat and Freeview and as we reported last month, saw year-on-year sales grow by 75% in 2010.
