Kanban Saved from Administration

After speculation and rumour, Kanban Crafts has announced it's secured the assets of Kanban Card and Paper Ltd.
Kanban Crafts has bought the trade, assets and goodwill of the business and, with the 40 remaining staff, will continue to produce Kanban products for TV shopping and the trade.

The company has been dogged by false accusations in forums, which director Karen Smith has attempted to clear up in a statement on the company's website, saying:

“At Kanban we have seen a considerable drop in sales both through TV shopping and trade since the beginning of the year, and have had to go through a complete company restructure, which included a review of current staffing levels, and a complete overview of the company’s lean manufacturing methods.

“A lot has been said about the hearsay, innuendo, rumour and conduct of the directors of Kanban over the past few weeks on several craft forums and social media sites.

“Unfortunately some of those remarks have turned malicious and amount to defamation of character and slander.” Karen goes on to explain that she had to contact forum moderators to have comments removed about the company that were untrue.

In a statement to Craft Business, Kanban Crafts Ltd said:

“As you may have heard, on 5th August 2011, Kanban Card and Paper Ltd sadly went into administration.

“This was a very traumatic period for the company as at the time we were going through a company restructure, which included a review of current staffing levels, and in turn a complete overview of the company's lean manufacturing methods.

“However, following in depth, lengthy negotiations with the Administrator and additional investment from NJD Plc, with no further plc, with no further offers received by any other potential purchasers, Kanban Crafts Ltd secured the trade and assets as a going concern.

“Kanban Crafts has many new and exciting ideas for the future and will continue with out innovative and creative product development, offering all the support we can to the trade and ultimately the consumer who uses our product.

“In these uncertain and sometimes arduous times of trading Kanban Crafts Ltd are committed to offering you new and exciting promotions including three-for-two, consumer bonus products and trade incentives. Additional promotional literature and mail shots will continue to be published.

“Our sales team will continue and if you require a visit by one of our representatives please contact them directly or phone 01274 582 425.”

“All the team at Kanban Crafts would like to take this opportunity of thanking all our customers for their past custom and loyalty and pledge our continued support to you and your business.”

The future looks bright for the company, which launched two days ago onto Create and Craft TV, and all at Craft Business wish the company the best for the future.
