With a new A-lister each week confessing their love for a needle and yarn, it seems there is no stopping the knitting phenomenon.
Julia Roberts, Katie Holmes, Cameron Diaz and ex Spice Girl Geri Halliwell have all admitted they are fans of the craft and often like to kick back with a knitting project.
Now the latest star to catch the crafty bug is singer Lily Allen.
After marrying long-term beau Sam Cooper earlier this year, Lily Allen seems to be adapting to married life well, after revealing that she likes to spend her evenings knitting and making cushions.
The retired popstar has taken up embroidery and knitting as she settles into her new life in the countryside with her husband, and admitted that nowadays she was “not so rock 'n' roll” and is embracing her quieter lifestyle.
Speaking to the Sun newspaper, she said: “I'm being taught to knit and I'm embroidering too. I'm actually in the process of making cushions.”
She even made knitted bride and groom dolls which she incorporated into her wedding bouquet for the big day.
Pregnant Lily seems happy to have replaced her wild nights out with knitting patterns as she prepares for motherhood and will enjoy passing on her new found skills to her new arrival due in November this year.
With younger fans keeping a close eye on the every move of their celebrity icons, this generation will be inspired to pick up a ball of wool as knitting keeps getting trendier.
