The trade show season has begun in earnest with the opening of Paperworld Frankfurt, the international event which showcases the biggest, boldest and best in paper products and office supplies. “The show is huge,” reports Craft Business staff writer Bev Howard from the exhibition floor. ”It's extremely busy, with a fantastic creative hall which houses the British pavilion. Those that I have spoken to identify it as a key meeting place to network with buyers from Europe and beyond.” The event certainly offers a wide platform for international guests – in 2007 the event attracted a massive 61,118 visitors, more than 34,000 of whom made the journey from outside Germany.
Paperworld is followed by CHA Winter Convention and Trade Show which takes place in Anaheim, California, between 10th and 13th February. The UK Pavilion – organised by CraftQuip which is a division of the The Federation of Garden and Leisure Manufacturers – will show off the best of British products and services to the international gathering of retailers, manufacturers, designers and distributors. All visitors are invited to visit the Craft Business team at stand 3140 in the UK Pavilion.
A matter of days later the UK's only dedicated craft trade show – Craft Hobby + Stitch International – will kick of at the NEC in Birmingham. Running from Sunday 17th February until 19th February, the event is expected to bring a cornucopia of craft to a wide audience of UK-based buyers and international industry insides alike. The season will continue into March with Italy's Planet Creativity and Paris's SMAC. For details of every show, and for a last chance to vote in the first ever Craft Business Awards, visit the Craft Business stand 9E52 at Birmingham's NEC.
