Sew Over It, in Clapham North, is the latest London sewing cafe to open in a trend that's seen premises pop up in locations all over the UK, including Bath, Cornwall and Glasgow.
The latest cafe, which opened this month, is the creation of Lisa Comfort, a graduate of the London College of Fashion who has worked for designers such as Bruce Oldfield and Phillipa Lepley.
A whole host of exciting courses are being offered in the chic venue, including mums and babies sewing mornings, one-on-one tuition and expert guidance in creating fun and funky items, from cardigans to cushions.
Customers with special occasions like birthdays or hen parties can have sewing parties, and there are ideas for children like customising t-shirts and bags.
People can work on their projects whilst sipping from the unlimited pots of tea provided, all for the bargain price of £5 per hour, safe in the knowledge there's always someone around to help if they get stuck. And of course, there's plenty of cake on sale too, on essential ingredient for harmonious sewing.
