This Saturday is Worldwide Knit in Public Day, and to celebrate Stitch London is organising a 'Stitch Crawl', a journey through London via four venues to sit and stitch at.
Formerly known as Stitch 'n' Bitch, Stitch London describes itself as 'The world's largest feisty but friendly free knitting group' which anyone can join. The gang is organising a crawl starting at 12pm at the bandstand in St James' Park. Knitters will then stitch at Buckingham Palace from 1.15 to 2.15pm, followed by a 2.45 to 3.45pm stop at Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park.
The final stop is at the Serpentine Gallery from 4.15 to 6pm, and there are drinks from 6pm till late 'for the hardcore', with the venue as yet unconfirmed.
It's not solely for knitters; all crafters are welcome, and completely free to join. There's also a raffle with prizes at each stop of the crawl.
'KIPS' (knit in publics) are being planned in countries all over the world for this coming Saturday, June 11th. Visit http://www.wwkipday.com to find out where they are.
