The nominations are in and the heat is on to whittle down a whole bevvy of businesses to the supreme craft companies of 2007
As Craft Business calls time on the nomination process for its first annual awards, the industry is in for a tense wait to find out who has made the shortlist. The hotly-contested categories include best supplier, manufacturer, craft publisher, and – the ultimate accolade – Craft Personality of the Year. With voting opening soon, the awards will be presented at Craft, Hobby and Stitch International at Birmingham NEC in February.
Nomination forms have been winging their way into Craft Business HQ for several weeks and now work is under way to compile a definitive shortlist of nominees. “Response to the call for nominations has been fantastic and we can't wait to find out who readers will vote the businesses of the year,” says Craft Business editor Anna Blewett. “It's so important that we recognise the contribution that suppliers, manufacturers and designers make to the industry, whether breaking new ground with their services or just putting a smile on the face of their trade customers.” The Craft Business Awards 2007 are the perfect complement to the annual accolades presented by sister publication Crafts Beautiful – also at Craft Hobby and Stitch International.
Voting forms will be available online at http://www.craftbusiness.com and within the November/December issue of the magazine.
